Very Social

There are few ideas and concepts which you just cannot resist from sharing. One such phenomenon which requires urgent attention for its WOW factor is called Social, situated in the locales of the hip and happening- Hauz Khas Village.  The best thing I felt about of this new outfit is that it blesses you with umpteen jaw-dropping moments. Every time you digest one novel idea, another one pops up soon after!

The raw décor, quirky drinks-deconstructed dishes (still mulling over the fact that my Cosmopolitan Cocktail came with Candy Floss) and a breath-taking view in the backdrop- all this makes for a sensational release.

For people like me who like to work in a rather exciting setting, how about booking their conference room facing the very popular HKV Lake? It’s also the land of the free (lancer) and home of creative souls looking for an exhilarating alternative to a typical work day. Social has it all to make for an ideal work space- a boardroom, wall-space, conference facilities, wall-to-wall uber high-speed WiFi and built-in social interaction.

And as the time comes to switch-off the work channel, the place quickly changes gear to becoming a high energy bar. Drinks after work, never came so easily!

Here is saluting all the minds for kick-starting a trend refreshingly different. Riyaaz Amlani, CEO & MD, Impresario Handmade Restaurants says “Coffee shops and cafes have been projected as your “Third Place”, a place away from home and your work/college. With Social, for the very first time in restaurant history we have introduced the Second Place concept, a place where you can both work and play.”

This is one of those rare places, where I want to talk less and want you to see more as seeing more would eventually want you to experience it all the more.

Feel Privileged, The Primo Way!

Well,  today we are going to touch upon something slightly different from  the routine stuff. However, we are not going to go far away from the premise of a good living. It is a concept which has become quite a talk-point with the expat  community in Delhi-NCR.

Lately, the Capital witnessed Hungover Enterprises announcing the launch of the Primo Privilege card.

The card endeavours to bridge the long gap between the expats living in Delhi-NCR and the array of restaurants, luxury products and services available around the city. It is simultaneously a discount card, a database and review software. The members holding the card can log onto Primo Privilege’s website, www.primoprivilege.com, search for their requirements from the wide variety of categories and contact the vendors directly. From 7 course dinners to plugging leaks in the kitchen, Primo has it all.

With Primo in their wallets, the expats are sure to feel at home with improved guidance at all times.

“We are proud to announce the launch of the Primo Privilege card in Delhi. Primo is working towards helping expats and diplomats discover the best of what’s available in Delhi-NCR. As the only privilege program in Delhi to be officially endorsed by bodies such as the High Commission of Canada, the Australian High Commission, Delhi Network, ANZA, AWA, Gurgaon Connection and more, we are in the unique position to really help local businesses expand their user base and achieve a positive branding impact which nobody else can offer,” stated Prashant Kalra, Founder, Primo Privilege and Managing Director, Hungover Enterprises Pvt. Here Comes Svedka!

“I love Sweden. The entire world should be like Sweden. They all like to drink and get naked, and the women are hot. I can’t think of a better nation on the planet”  -Drew Curtis

In Mr. Curtis´words, Sweden seems like the place that defines `Free-Spirited´. Well, for those of us in India who can`t travel to Sweden at the moment can get a sense of that informality and openness with the newly launched vodka- SVEDKA. The unveiling of the chic Sweden Vodka was done with a super bash at FIO hosted by Suhail Mehra, Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth. The vodka that boasts of being distilled 5 times looks pretty like this and comes in different flavours.

For many of us who might not know, it is pronounced as SWA-EKA 😉

Sadly, I could not stay till Tikoo´s performance but Roo Pane completely captivated me. If you too love the melodious chords of guitar being blended with some soulful vocals, then you can listen to him at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGP-TnIoejk

Apart from all the fun, I also enjoyed checking out the collection displayed at the store. Some of the things that I completely love from the Spring/Summer 14 collection are below.

Celebrating the Jean-Claude Biguine Way!

On Saturday, all roads in Mumbai led to Olive  Bar & Kitchen to be in company of Jean-Claude Biguine, who visited India for the 5th successful anniversary of the premium salon & spa in India.

The evening was enjoyed with much glitz and glam as in attendance were Vidyut Jamwal, Shaina NC, Gul Panag, Mandira Bedi & Raj Kaushal, Salim Sulaiman among others who graced the event with their presence.

The talk-point of the evening definitely was the fact that designers Troy Costa, Nishka Lulla and Drashta Sarvaiya teamed-up with coiffures from Jean-Claude Biguine India for a gala fashion affair.

The evening beautifully displayed the coming together of hair couture and apparel design in the spirit of Parisian style and fashion.

Let us turn to what the man of the moment had to say,” Beauty is always there…it needs to be enhanced with the right services in the right mood by well trained professionals who practice beauty as a passion, not a profession”, said Jean-Claude Biguine.

So, boys and girls- never the let the spirit of beauty die!

Bloggers´Meet @ W

Bloggers´ Meet is always an interesting way to explore new things while getting to meet other bloggers who share similar interests. This time it was women apparels´brand W to host an evening full of fun exclusively for bloggers in the capital. The evening was primarily a toast to the launch of an all new festive collection while also showcasing other fresh designs, colours and silhouettes.

The brand´s USP according to us is the western twist that they render to their ethnic cuts. We simply love their tunic kurtas that can be worn with leggings for an ethnic look or worn just like that for a casual fun look. Other interesting new pieces included cropped pants to skimming trousers, printed personality trousers, circular folkloric skirts to side wrap dresses.

Lets revisit all the fun we had at the meet…

THE ULTRA LUXE LOUNGE- PANGAEA COMES TO INDIA

The more frequented global party-lover would sure be aware of the opulence offered by Pangaea. In times when the Delhi social circuit was desperately looking for newer avenues, this venture comes as a breath of fresh air.

Located in the heart of The Ashok Hotel in New Delhi, Pangaea, an exclusive bottle service concept by The Ault Group Founder, Michael Ault, has undergone months of extensive work to present a world-class party venue.  So, for those who haven’t gotten a first-hand experience, it is time to take out your party shoes!

Accommodating up to 20 VIP tables, and up to 400 guests, Pangaea, New Delhi showcases uniquely designed furniture and custom-made dance-tiers within each banquette, literally fabricated to be danced on.  Our dancing lot, did you take note  of that?

The lounge in Delhi is an epitome of a grand salon, with sexy opulence and world-class art collection, which will give our guests a window into the decadence of the Renaissance.

Here we must acknowledge that Spice Global and The Ault Group have truly blessed Capital’s night life with a spot of international reckoning.

Well, we definitely found the place in a different league altogether. The interiors are done up after much thought,  the DJ’s do play the best music to waive off the day’s pressures and stress and the international models cum hostesses on the move give you great company ensuring your glasses and plates are always full! We too were pampered with some great wine 😉

Let us get partying the Pangaea way!

IBFW Day 5- Adarsh Gill

Adarsh Gill, showcased her luxurious collection- ‘EVOLUTION- an ode to the contemporary Indian woman’ at the recently concluded, fourth edition of the India Bridal Fashion week in New Delhi.

She showed many techniques of embroidery through her collection which was also clubbed with the incorporation of different jewel colors. The outfits came across as very wearable for many. However, for us it did not work well.

A lot of embellished silver work in geometrical pattern was done on short dresses, fitted evening gowns and halter blouses which were teamed with black saris.  With the use of extensive romantic floral motifs and geometric patterns, complimented by bold and vibrant colors like emerald green, royal blues, fluorescent oranges, purples and reds, she showcased her version of Indian Bridal story on the ramp.

Esha Gupta who appeared in red and gold lehenga concluded the show for Adarsh Gill.

IBFW Day3- Falguni & Shane Peacock

A mention of the duo always raises eyebrows as one does expect them to deliver post considerable amount of experimentation. Well, let’s not forget that they proudly don the hat for having an enviable clientele including the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Fergie, Rihanna  among many others.

Their collection,Garden of Eden was a gorgeous combination of colours, textures and sparkling embellishments. As the title of the collection suggests, they derived their inspiration from the most natural and beautiful creations of time by travelling to Monaco, Nice and the gardens of Lake Como in Europe. Their inspiration incredibly captured the beauty of the flora and the natural environment of the European gardens.

The audience were taken on a  fairytale journey and then came the impressive line of extravagant bridal and evening gowns, full ghagras, anarkalis, farshi pyjamas, kalidaar saris teamed with bustier, halters and shrugs.

In short, their collection was packed with shimmers and nets.

 So, who was the show-stopper?

The concluding subtle romantic music made way for the Bollywood Diva, Neha Dhupia. She was clad in a lace and velvet, double layered evening gown with a crafted metal sheet attached to the waist of the outfit. The outfit sure grabbed maximum eye-balls!!!
