Bridal Wear – Helipad On Heels

Soon after the much awaited Manish Malhotra fashion show got over in the Capital, one of his show-stoppers and Bollywood’s recent sensation, Alia Bhatt posted her picture on instagram saying, “Dream come true”. I shared her sentiments as this was the very first time, one was able to witness live the opulent creations of our most loved designer. One was left asking for more as the collection was absolutely stunning. The usage of mirrors, Kashmiri-work, richness of reds and greens and the sophistication of the neutral hues- all worked like magic on us. And not to forget his show-stoppers who took everyone by surprise. In such a splendid setting, the fashion icon managed to even make me feel like a princess!

Rina Dhaka, the veteran as we know her showcased a shimmering collection in IBFW 13´on its day 2. Sophie Chaudhary opened the show wearing a beautiful mirror work bustier teamed up with appliqué patchwork sharara. Rina Dhaka’s collection- ‘Free Spirited Bride’ was a play of textures, embroidery, opulence and style with panache. Patchwork, gota work and traditional kamdani work ruled her collection. Neutral shades in contrast with brighter ones, shararas with short anarkalis, high collars and patchwork were some of the key highlights.

Her favourite sheer was reintroduced with use of gold, stretch, satin and work in the form of churidaars.

To add glamour to the show or perhaps to promote their new film, Prateik Babbar in velevet sherwani with heavy goldwork on the shoulders and Amyra in gold and nude coloured sharara concluded the show.

Personally, we did not like the collection so much and would give it a 4 on a scale of 10. 😦
