Nailed it with ease and style!

Hey, so finally I am getting to talk all about the wonderful experiences I had in Bangkok lately, though all of you who follow us on Instagram would be privy to all the fun that we had but time to blog it all out too…

So, when girls decide to spend some time on personal care and pampering… nails definitely feature in the to-do list! Hence, we decided to take some time out for our nails and give them a good make-over! So, we headed to the Pretty Cozy Nail Cottage in Thonglor. The name of the place truly gets reflected in its ambience and interiors, for they seemed both pretty and cozy!!!

This nail spa provides a plethora of services including Classic Spa Manicure/Pedicure, Manicure/Pedicure Spa with Gel Colour, Soak-off Gel Removal, Polish Change, Acrylic Nail Extension, Nail Art, Kiddies Manicure/Pedicure and a lot more.

Here’s sharing about the service we opted for which was a Spa Manicure and Gel Polish Color with Nail Art. For Spa manicure, first, they started with nail clipping and filing, and then scrubbed with a high quality spa product. The scrub we were told helps to remove the dead skin. Then they cleaned and soaked our hands, put some lotion, then pushed back our cuticles which was followed by buffing. Then came in the sanitisation of our hands with alcohol. The last step was to put moisturizer and massage our hands for the much needed relaxation. After the spa was done, they started the process of putting Gel Colour on our nails. Well, choosing the nail colour here was no easy task for their options seemed just unlimited. We were informed that they have more than 180 Gel Colours available from OPI and CND shellac.

After the nails are properly prepared with OPI Bond Aid (to up the durability and ensure less chipping), they normally start with base coat, then do the colours/nail art, then put the top coat of our choice (glossy, matt, chrome) then finish it off with cuticle oil .

Well, both of us were extremely happy with our nails but what truly impressed us was how meticulously the nails were done and also with much swiftness otherwise I always shy away from such treatments, thinking that the whole day will go in just a salon visit but the staff here was extremely professional and valued our time.

So, when in Bangkok and in search of a quality nail spa- Pretty Cozy Nail Cottage is a good pick and also you would be thrilled to know that they aren’t expensive.

Sandy FACES

FACES cosmetics recently unveiled their latest ULTIME PRO SAND COAT nail lacquers at their flagship store in GK-1, M Block Market. The collection was launched over a fun-filled afternoon event that got bloggers and journalists together to enjoy nail makeover by `Nail Spa by Gurpreet´.

The new Sand Coat collections draws inspiration from beach holidays. The glimmering colours leave an interesting sandy texture behind and stays for long.

The spa session was very much based on the Christmas feel of the season and everyone got their nails painted in different festive colours from the collection. I personally feel they fit well for partying and chilling- times when you want to let loose and experiment.

Some other things I recently tried from the brand are Ultramoist lipsticks and nail-paints in neon hues and must say that they are worth it. I am also itching to try their dry oils for body! If you already have then share your feedback 🙂

Fashion Walk @ WIFW

The capital has recently been buzzing with news, rumours and gossip from the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week, where designers showcased their beautiful collections for Spring Summer 14´. Shameless to say that we did go missing this time but made up for it on Day-5 by quickly catching up on each designer´s collection. The splendid pieces left us wanting to turn thieves but we somehow managed to keep sanity. Since, everyone has their favourites, we both also picked some of our most lusted pieces from the week.

Much in talk, Masaba´s collection was a beautiful interplay of sporty and ethnic. There were some pieces that looked a little impractical in terms of silhouette and even wear-ability. We did like some of the pieces and specially the two below apart from the very beautiful and interesting sling bags. Sonali loved the white printed piece and I fell for this blue and red striped dress with princely embroidery used to add contrast.

Below is a peek into the colours flashing out of Yogesh Chaudhary´s stall. The pieces under the label called Surendri had a mix of spark, colour and lots of fun. Most importantly the pieces looked very wearable and contemporary.

Do we need to mention that below is a shot from Manish Arora`s stall? The pieces speak out loud and with enough pride. It was our first time to see these Indian ethnic pieces from the designer and it was such a treat. I love this one the most. The pink and green combo with those way too cute hearts are something to heart.

Now time for a relatively lesser known label, 5 Elements by Radhika Gupta that completely mesmerised us with trendy and quirky accessories. My pick are these two. Skull flats and statement clutch.! And honestly, I was a little confused what to pick for I liked so many pieces. Can I own them all? Are you listening Radhika!

Well, if you thought that letters and numbers are for kindergarten text books then you might as well take a look at the pics below. Creative designer, Niharika Pandey showed us how pencils, alphabets and more from school can define trends.

And once we had visited all these fancy stalls, it was time to find something to quench our dry throats. We were indeed lucky to discover Antidote. They are just what you should look out for! Organic, cold pressed and healthy juices! They are yummy and truly rejuvenating and needless to say a much better option to pick over fizz.

IBFW Day 4- Rohit Bal

Now that IBFW is over, we can confess that this was the finale for us. Known as ‘India’s master of fabric and fantasy’, Rohit Bal left the onlookers in amazement with his splendid show.

His collection, ‘The Mulmul Masquerade’ on day 4 of India Bridal Fashion Week was a beautiful definition of fusion. Sharing his excitement on IBFW he said, “I have done so many couture shows in the past, but I never showed my bridal collection on the ramp, and it’s an amazing time to showcase bridal collection.”

Not just the collection, even the set was very extravagant with lotus flower pendent lamps of varied sizes which were hanging down the ceiling. Backgroung songs such as ´Khoya Khoya Chand´added to the ambiance. The famous model, Nayanika Chatterjee opened the show wearing a Victorian gown. Victorian look hairstyle donned by the models, frilled high collared blouse teamed with a sari and floor sweeping jackets, reminded everything about the Elizabethan era. With the collection, he intended to take the audience on a journey through centuries of Indian and Elizabethan eras of elegance and opulence. Models sashayed down the ramp in long gowns and with extensive use of muslin in the creation of those Victorian collars, it made everything look so royal.

From simplicity of muslin to extreme grandeur of rich velvets, the collection was signifying at the rich craftsmanship of both these periods. In the men’s collection, there were dhoti pants teamed with jackets, coats over kurtas, long coats with slits in beautiful paisley thread work worn over long skirts and teamed with pyjamis. A lot of kashmiri embroidery work was seen on gowns worn with short velvet jackets by the models in his show. MULMUL collection was all about antique gold kasab kashmiri embroidery on muslin to shibori on fabrics like voiles and chanderi.

The highlight of the evening was when Sonam Kapoor in beautiful muslin and paisley pattern lehenga closed the show for Rohit bal as his show stopper. The show ended with Rohit Bal and Sonam Kapoor dancing to the tunes of a bollywood number.

The Kameez Factor @ Moon River

Everyone talks high-fashion these days, but when was the last time that fashionistas gave a serious thought to Men’s fashion?

It was extremely satisfying to witness the excitement in putting together, “The Kameez Collection” at Delhi’s Moon River-a premier design and concept store.

The subtleness in the ambience and collection was overwhelming. The collection spoke for itself for their was an interesting set of designers showcasing their  work such as PERO by Aneeth Arora,  Abraham & Thakore, Laurence Dolige and WE THE PPL.

The whole experience was rather international and chic- amidst classy fashion, single malts and an ambience soaked in the hues of white.

Seldom do times come when you want to appreciate and acknowledge the men in your life. The crispness of Abraham & Thakore’s shirts, the crushed-casualness of Laurence Dolige’s shirts or the breathing fabrics of  Pero, gives one the best excuse to make their men feel special!

The humbleness of the collection sure wins our hearts!
